STEPS:

  • Cut out cardstock to 4 x 5.5 inches. This will be the top layer of the cutout letters.
  • Cut contrasting cardstock to 8 x 5.5 inches, and fold in half. This will be the bottom layer.
  • Print (or handwrite) letters. Cut out the letters and trace onto the 4 x 5.5 piece of cardstock. (Tip: You only need to cut the outline of each letter and not the inside of the letters.)

  • Cut a 3 1/4-by-9-inch rectangle from construction paper, then round 2 corners.

STEPS:

  • First, we make the card. With the paper trimmer, cut a piece of paper that is 7″ x 10″. Using the mini scoring board, score the piece of paper at 5 inches on the 10-inch end. Fold at the crease.
  • Cut squares and strips out of the polka dot and solid cardstocks and adhere on your card. Make sure to leave space in between to show the ‘white’ of the card (space is what creates the comic frames).

Mini Scoring Board
1-Inch Circle Punch
Construction paper in various colors

STEPS:

  • First, we make the card. With the paper trimmer, cut a piece of paper that is 7″ x 10″. Using the mini scoring board, score the piece of paper at 5 inches on the 10-inch end. Fold the piece of paper at the crease.
  • Punch 3 circles in different paper patterns or colors with the one-inch circle punch.
  • Then, cut 3 different colored or patterned pieces of paper into 5-inch squares. Place one of the squares in the mini-scoreboard and score every ¼ inch. Once you have scored the entire piece, accordion folds the paper and cinch in the middle. Place one dot of hot glue at the center and wait for it to dry.
  • Repeat with 2 other pieces of paper.
  • Once the 3 bow ties are dry, use the hot glue gun to adhere them to the card. Then hot glue a circle on top of each.

Bone folder
Colorful paper
Scissors
Ruler

STEPS:

  • Cut out a sheet of colorful paper with a width that’s divisible by three; ours is 12 inches (the height is 7). Use a ruler to divide width into three equal parts; fold the paper at those points. Unfold. Fold left flap over the middle (these panels will be card’s front), then fold both in half (use a bone folder, if you like). Draw a half circle (or half square) over outer fold; cut out, cutting through all layers, just outside the line.
  • Trim cutouts. Lay one on the photo; trace. Cut out photo; glue onto cutout.
  • Glue string between photo and the other cutout (or another photo). Place string in the fold of middle flap, positioning photo in the hole; glue left flap to the middle, trapping string inside. Trim string.

Cardstock in various colors
Mini Scoring Board
Star Punch
Adhesive foam dots

STEPS:

  • First, we make the card. With the paper trimmer, cut a piece of cardstock to 9″ x 6″.
  • Use the scoreboard to score center of 9″ length. Fold. You now should have a 4.5″ x 6″ card.
  • Use your star punch to cut stars out of the other cardstock.
  • For each star, make scores from the center to the end of each point.
  • Carefully bend scored edges to create a dimensional star.
  • Cut out a small piece of paper, ie. 2×2 in. Score straight lines every 1/4″ and fold to create an accordion.
  • Glue stars around the card using adhesive foam dots, use the accordion to make one star a “shooting” star.

STEPS:

  • First, we make the card. With the paper trimmer, cut a piece of paper that is 7″ x 10″. Using the mini scoring board, score the piece of paper at 5 inches on the 10-inch end. Fold at the crease.
  • Punch two hearts with the heart punch. Cut one heart down the center to make the two fins. Score the other heart down the center with the mini scoring board.
  • Use the jumbo circle punch to punch one circle. Then take that circle and punch again to create an almond shape for the fish’s body.
  • Use a screw punch to cut out the eye. Make a tiny triangle shaped cut with detail scissors to make the mouth.
  • Use the paper trimmer to cut a piece of paper that is 5″ x 4″. Take a small circle punch, and cut half-circles along one 5 inch edge to make wave shapes. Bend a small piece of wire like a jewelry wire or a paper clip to make the hook and attach some baker’s twine for the line.
  • Assemble the pieces and use the glue pen to adhere.
  • Use your favorite glitter pen to write a nice message.

STEPS:

  • On a computer, resize photographs to desired dimensions, and convert to black and white. Maximize the contrast and adjust the brightness to make the black in the pictures as strong and sharp as possible.
  • Print a picture onto card stock. Using scissors, cut around the image, eliminating the background and creating a silhouette.
